Inside the Jelly Basin takes its audience on a poetic journey through the lifecycle of a jellyfish, focussing on their viral dissemination. The film was shot on the mudflats in front of Bremerhaven, as well as in the local climate museum, which serves as a futuristic Habitat. Latex and lacquer skins, originally designed as costumes become puppets animated by the waves of the ocean and accompanied by the tactile play of a double bass. In this performance, the latex skins become costumes for three actors. In the heavy latex capes that obstruct any view, seemingly simple actions become acts of exertion that, when repeated, push the performers to the limits of their bodies. The performance becomes a multi sensual orgy, ending in a mud bath that blurs the boundaries between individual bodies.
